In 2009 I started volunteering with West Metro Miracle Athletics. It was a way for me to be involved in kids sports, without all of the stress and complications of coaching a typical softball team (I'd done that in college- it wasn't for me!). What I found, was a passion for kids with disabilities. By the end of the first season I was on the Board of Directors, and one year later I helped start iCANhoop! The basketball division of our program. Early in the Spring of 2016 I took over the basketball program at the Executive Director, as I realized that these kids are more important than me running races, or even getting to the gym every day. I just want to help!
For the past few years I have been contemplating the idea of a Fitness class for kids with disabilities. This was the year to make it happen.
Starting in July 2016 I will be offering a fitness session once a week, where parents and PCA's can come to the park and lead their kids through a circuit workout (of sorts), designed for any ability! I am excited to get this program started! Stay tuned for sign-up details!
Please feel free to EMAIL ME; if you are interested in having your child get a one-on-one training session with me!
Please, like my FlexABILITY Facebook Page!
This program needs the support of friends and family! If you have a workplace, school, or favorite hangout that allows flyers to be hung up, please print one off here! Snap a photo and email me the location and get a workout session for free!
